New Delhi: Reliance Jio on Monday announced the option of voice and video calling to users with the help of the Wi-Fi network. Please tell that Airtel is already providing this service to its users. Recently, Airtel has started this service in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi NCR, Andhra Pradesh, UP, Mumbai, Gujarat, Kolkata, Haryana, and Punjab. Currently, this feature is available on OTT (Over the Top). Which includes WeChat, Hike, and WhatsApp.
How will it work?
With the help of Wi-Fi calling, users can call on the Wi-Fi network from the mobile number itself without the help of the third-party app. If a user wants to make a call with this help, then he will have to keep the Wi-Fi calling option on his phone. It is being told that with its help, users will be able to get better-calling facility. Apart from this, users can also choose the option of calling with the help of mobile data by going to their phone settings.
If your smartphone supports Wi-Fi calling and you do not see the option of Wi-Fi calling then you can update your phone. Airtel company says that to use Wi-Fi calling, users will have to update their device’s software. Users will then have to go to the phone’s settings to turn on VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling options.
Wi-Fi calling can be availed on all Reliance Jio’s indoor Wi-Fi networks and broadband services. OnePlus will only support this feature on some models of Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi. Airtel and Jio have told about the supported brands and their handsets on their web site. It is being told that this option will work in roaming too.
