The All India Senior Selection Committee on Tuesday recalled Sanju Samson in the T20’s place in place of Dhawan. At the same time, young batsman Prithvi Shaw has been given a chance in the ODI team. Samson was dropped after the series against Sri Lanka but he has been able to return to the team once again on the tour of New Zealand. At the same time, Shaw has come in the ODI team for the first time.
Shaw was part of the Test team but was hurt on the Australian tour due to which he was dropped and then he was also out due to doping.
Dhawan also returned from injury and returned to Sri Lanka and Australia series. In the last ODI played against Australia in Bengaluru, he was injured again, so he has left the team.
The BCCI said in its statement, “Opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the T20 and ODI series on New Zealand tour. Dhawan suffered an injury to his left shoulder while stopping the ball in the third ODI against Australia in Bengaluru. was.”
